Treasury Accounting & Operations Manager (St. Louis, MO)

MGP's own Branded Spirts business is growing following the 2021 acquisition of Luxco, a top spirits producer, bottler, supplier, and importer as well as the 2023 acquisition of Penelope Bourbon, known for its wide range of uniquely blended expressions. Ingredient Solutions delivers nutritional, functional wheat- and pea-based ingredients aligned with consumer trends. The company operates in locations across the Midwestern U.S., and overseas in Northern Ireland and Mexico.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Treasury Accounting & Operations Manager is responsible for ownership of treasury-related balance sheet accounts during month-end close, in addition to supporting daily cash flow management and forecasting. The position is responsible for preparing accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements, as well as managing day-to-day treasury operations, including cash positioning, customer credit oversight, and banking administration.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Cash Flow & Treasury Operations

  • Support the Director of Treasury in daily cash positioning and short-term cash forecasting
  • Manage daily cash operating needs for payments and funding of AP/AR functions
  • Collaborate with BU AR/AP specialists to optimize cash position across the business
  • Prepare monthly BU cash conversion cycle and customer aging reports
  • Assist with cash flow forecasting models and variance analysis to support liquidity planning

Customer Credit Management

  • Oversee customer credit application process, review and authorization for establishing payment terms.
  • Prepare and maintain bank account documentation, including signatory records
  • Serve as liaison with banks on transaction inquiries and issue resolution
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with banking requirements and internal policies

Month End Close & Balance Sheet/Statement of Cash Flow Preparation

  • Own preparation and review of treasury-related balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely close each month
  • Prepare and post monthly treasury journal entries, including accruals and reclasses
  • Reconcile treasury balance sheet accounts and resolve variances in coordination with accounting
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet and cash flow statements
  • Partner with accounting/controllership to ensure treasury bookings align with close calendar and reporting deadlines

Internal Controls & Policy Adherence

  • Lead treasury SOX/internal control process & documentation
  • Support internal and external audit requests related to treasury and cash
  • Review contracts, vendor applications, and customer set-ups to validate terms are in-line with company policy

Banking Operations

  • Prepare and update bank account documentation, including, but not limited to, signatory records.
  • Ensure compliance with banking requirements and serve as liaison with banks for transaction inquiries and issue resolution.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA required
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience in public accounting or audit
  • Experience in financial statement preparation and internal controls
  • Demonstrated experience in month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and internal controls
  • Working knowledge of cash management and banking operations
  • Strong Excel skills, including financial modeling
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • MS Office Suite software products
  • SAP / EPICORE
